Medical oncologists are cancer specialists who oversee general cancer care and coordinate treatments with other specialists. Often, they are the main care provider for someone who has been diagnosed with cancer. At the Kaufman Cancer Center, our Upper Chesapeake Hematology/Oncology practice consists of five highly experienced medical oncologists who are an individual’s guide to cancer care, assessing initial test results, making recommendations if additional testing is needed and managing courses of treatment. They are the physicians in charge of long-term care including regular checkups after treatment.
