Family members are a critical part of an individual's health care team. At UM BWMC, we strive to do things with patients and their family members, not just do things for them. That is why we created the Patient and Family Advisory Council.

The Patient and Family Advisory Council is a group of patients, families, community members and representatives from our hospital who regularly meet and provide feedback on current initiatives and projects going on at our medical center. There are also additional ad-hoc members who are chosen to assist in areas that they have special qualifications or interests.

The council's feedback enables us to focus our efforts in the right areas to ensure we are delivering an exceptional patient experience in our hospital and across the continuum of care. The council also helps us to ensure we are creating a Patient and Family Centered Care environment, one that meets all the needs of our patients and their family members.
