Ms. Hamlin comes to UM BWMC from the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus where she served as marketing and communications director. Her previous experience includes marketing, communications, strategic planning and community programs development.

University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) is announcing a new home-based emergency service available to Anne Arundel County residents that offers same-day medical care. Individuals who are not able to travel to a physician's office, emergency department or urgent care center and need medical treatment, will be able to contact UM BWMC's Mobile Care team that travels to their location.

Burk will be responsible for directing philanthropic efforts and community awareness to support the mission of UM BWMC. She has more than 25 years of experience in fundraising, business development and marketing. Prior to joining UM BWMC, she held senior leadership positions for two national non-profit health care organizations.

University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) has received the Mission: Lifeline® STEMI Receiving Center Gold Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. In order to receive the Gold award level, organizations must meet specific criteria for at least two consecutive calendar years. UM BWMC has received the Mission: Lifeline award since its inception in 2010 starting with a Bronze award from 2010 to 2012. UM BWMC received Silver in 2013 and Gold from 2014 to present.

The award recognizes UM BWMC’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients, and signifies that the medical center has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.
UM BWMC To Hold Free Naloxone Training Classes to The CommunityJuly 12, 2017
University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) is offering free Maryland Overdose Response Program classes to help educate the public on the signs and symptoms of an opiate overdose. The Overdose Response Program is part of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s strategy to reduce overdose deaths. Bi-weekly classes will start beginning July 18, 2017 at 6 p.m. and will be offered on an ongoing basis.
