Birthing Center - FAQs
Due to the recent cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Maryland, we are canceling our group events and meetings until further notice. This is being done to protect our patients, staff and visitors. We will announce on our Facebook page when classes and group events will resume as normal.

What do I pack for my stay in the hospital?
You will want to make sure you pack needed items for you, your birth partner and your baby.

Where should I park?
The Birthing Center at UM Shore Regional Health is located at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton.
Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Freeman Outpatient Center and Emergency Department entrances.
Will I have a private room?
The Birthing Center features private birthing suites that are designed to provide comfort during labor, delivery and recovery.

Can my baby stay in my room with me?
After your little one is born, he or she will room-in with you to assist with mother/baby bonding and to ensure that you are familiar with your new son or daughter before going home.
What classes are available to me?
A variety of classes are available for parent education, before and after childbirth.

Will a lactation consultant be available to me?
The Birthing Center team includes certified lactation consultants who will assist you with breastfeeding tips and techniques during your stay.
