Virtual Course Topics:

Big Brother, Big Sister: Preparing Your Child for the Arrival of a New Baby

Designed for children ages 3 to 8. Held virtually via video-conferencing, the class includes a tour of the Birthing Center and an interactive story time or video.

Breastfeeding Class

Expectant mothers are offered information about the benefits of breastfeeding for their babies and themselves, as well as tips and techniques for successful breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding Support Group

Led by certified lactation consultants who offer expectant and new mothers information about the benefits of breastfeeding for mother and baby along with tips and techniques for successful breastfeeding. For information regarding breastfeeding support conducted via video-conference, contact Carol Leonard, 410-822-1000, ext. 5700. 

Labor and Delivery

During this course offered throughout the year, expectant parents are provided with an overview of topics, including maternal reproductive health; signs, symptoms and stages of labor; pain management during labor; techniques for a successful birthing experience; cesarean delivery; and recovery after childbirth.

New Mom, New Baby: Safety and CPR

Provides new parents with information, including newborn safety, new mom safety and general safety.
