Supporting Breastfeeding in our Community

We provide postpartum care, education on breastfeeding, safe sleep positions for your baby and support groups designed to help new mothers manage their new bundle of joy.

All new mothers are followed for several months after birth to make sure everything is going well.

We will schedule your first postpartum appointment before you are discharged from the hospital to give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about caring for you and your new baby.

Whether to breastfeed or bottle feed is a very personal decision for any new mom. We will present your options during your prenatal visits, and our lactation consultants and midwives are on hand after you deliver to help you learn how to breastfeed, if you choose to.

Postpartum Support Group

We know that motherhood – especially for first time moms – can be stressful. We offer a monthly postpartum support group that can provide you with an outlet for your frustrations in a nurturing, non-judgmental environment. Our postpartum group can help you:

  • Understand what postpartum conditions are and what resources are available to help you deal with them
  • Share your experiences with other women who truly understand what you are going through
  • Learn ways to deal with and manage new baby and mom stress
  • Recognize the difference between normal stress and postpartum depression
