UM BWMC Canceling All Community Health Classes, Events, Programs and Support Groups as Precaution to COVID-19 Virus
WHAT: Due to an increased number of confirmed COVID-19 cases throughout Maryland, the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) is officially canceling all community health classes, events, program and support groups held on the hospital’s main campus as well as off campus properties.
WHEN: Beginning Wednesday, March 11 until further notice.
WHERE: UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center (301 Hospital Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21061) and UM BWMC off campus properties.
WHY: To protect the health and safety of all patients, visitors, staff and volunteers and help reduce the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus. UM BWMC is canceling all community health classes, events and support groups to adhere to the University of Maryland Medical System’s Enhanced Patient Safety Visitor Policy, which took effect Wednesday, March 11, and the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines on social distancing, which means avoiding mass gatherings and maintaining a minimum distance of six feet from other when possible.
