To promote good health for people of all ages, UM BWMC’s Community Outreach Department is offering a broad variety of in-person exercise classes to UM BWMC team members and the local community.
Our spring exercise classes begin in February 2023. They will be held in the Community Wellness Center in the Outpatient Care Center (255 Hospital Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21061). Pre-registration is required as spots are limited.

Prenatal Yoga (Tuesdays, 5:15-6:15 p.m.)
Pregnancy brings challenges, including many structural and hormonal changes. In this class, we will address those challenges and meet them with guided breathwork and poses that encourage and address prenatal physiology. You will be led through a sequence of yoga postures and mediation that is suitable for all trimesters.
Zumba (Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.)
Come join the dance party! Have fun with this high energy music class that incorporates fast and slow rhythms and interval training to get your heart rate up. This class combines all elements of fitness-cardio, strength building, flexibility and balance to boost your energy.
Gentle Yoga for Limited Mobility (Wednesdays, 10-11 a.m.)
This yoga class will cover basic yoga principles with a sequence of poses on a chair or in a standing position. It is designed to increase flexibility through the stretching of muscles and soft tissue. Participants with limited mobility due to chronic pain, disability or acute injuries as well as stroke survivors are encouraged.
Level 1 Vinyasa (Wednesdays, 5-6 p.m.)
Recommended props: 1 blanket, 1-2 blocks
This Level 1 Vinyasa class involves standing, sitting, kneeling and lying flat in coordination with specific yoga asanas (poses) designed to bring together the body, mind and spirit. It will help you to gain a better understanding and awareness of your inner strength. This is a refreshing, encouraging and fun class!
Pilates (Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m.)
Pilates is a form of exercise that concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. Along with yoga postures, this class increases your strength and flexibility, which helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being.
