Mission Statement

The BWMC Foundation Next Generation Committee is a fundraising and volunteer organization of local professionals building and growing relationships and financial resources to help UM BWMC provide the highest quality health care to the communities we serve.

Overview

NextGen membership is limited and selective. Members are leaders and catalysts in their professional and personal life and want to learn more about their community health system, its challenges, priorities, and opportunities. Members are encouraged to become active leaders in the Anne Arundel County community and encourage the act of philanthropy.

Guidelines For Membership

Engagement

  • Generate and share ideas on how to connect the BWMC Foundation, Inc. and UM BWMC to the community.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that will allow UM BWMC's and health system's message to reach new groups in the Anne Arundel County community, including new corporations, professional groups, and community organizations.
  • Leverage his/her own skills and talents to support the work of UM BWMC and the Foundation as a whole.

Advocacy

  • Have the ability and willingness to advocate for the UM BWMC within his/her personal and professional network, encouraging new individuals to support the health system's activities to benefit our patients and the community.
  • Identify opportunities to reach new audiences and engage new individuals/organizations in the community to UM BWMC's mission, including recruitment of future NextGen members.

Commitment

  • Make a two-year commitment.
  • Attend bi-monthly meetings
  • Pay membership dues ($100 Individual / $250 Corporate)
  • Attend and recruit attendees for the UM BWMC's events, including fundraisers and volunteer projects.

Impact

  • Give / Get: Members are asked to donate or raise at least $1,000 annually for the UM BWMC.

Snap Shot

  • Attend an Orientation tour at UM BWMC.
  • Attend UM BWMC meetings: held every other month, the third Tuesday of the month from 8am to 9am
  • Members are required to attend four meetings annually and are strongly encouraged to participate and volunteer on subcommittees especially around upcoming events.
  • Attend at least one fundraising event each year
  • Attend at least one volunteer event each year
  • Members-at-Large is by application. (15-25 members) Two year commitment at min. Referrals from Hospital Board Members, Foundation Board members, Current Next Generation members and donors.
