Lap Band Surgery

During this procedure, an adjustable band is placed at the top of the stomach, creating a small pouch where food stays. The Adjustable Gastric Band restricts the passage of food into the entire stomach and small intestines making you feel full faster and, therefore, reducing the amount you eat. Your physician can adjust the band as needed.

At our Bariatric Surgery Center, a lab band surgery is performed using a laparoscope rather than through a large open incision. The laparoscopic method allows the surgeon to make a series of much smaller incisions reducing abdominal pain and lowering the risk of wound infection and hernia.
