Under UM Shore Regional Health, UM Shore Medical Centers at Chestertown and Easton earned Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2019.

About Magnet

Achieved by few registered U.S. hospitals, Magnet recognition is the ultimate distinction for high quality nursing care. Magnet recognition is granted to those health care organizations that meet specific standards set forth by the ANCC. An organization must meet standards in quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice.

To maintain Magnet status, organizations must re-apply for the designation every four years.
