UMMC Midtown Campus
Construction of the Midtown Campus Outpatient Tower has started. Starting, Monday August 30th, contractors will close Linden Avenue in front of the main hospital entrance for approximately ten days while they demo the existing crosswalk and replace it with new concrete. As pictured in the diagram below, there will be a patient drop off area by the main entrance to the hospital. Entrances to the parking garages will remain open at all times. Street closure and wayfinding signage will be posted.
University of Maryland Medical Center
The South Entrance (Gudelsky Building Entrance) will be closed from March 24, 2021 through the end of August 2021. Patients and visitors must enter the Hospital via the Main Entrance at the Corner of West Baltimore and Greene Streets between 5 AM and 9 PM. Visitors entering overnight (9 PM to 5 AM) will enter the Shock Trauma Entrance located near the corner of Lombard and Penn Streets.
Starting March 15, 2021
- Shuttles from Midtown/Heritage Crossing, Upper Chesapeake, and Mt. Washington Pediatric will drop off at the Shock Trauma Entrance.
- The Arena Staff parking shuttle will drop off at the rear entrance to the hospital where the Saratoga/Lexington shuttle currently drops off.

Valet Parking Services:
To enhance your experience and to better serve you and your family, the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus offers valet parking at the main entrance of the hospital on Linden Avenue. Valet parking is available Monday - Friday between 8 am and 4:30 for a $6 flat-rate fee.
The Metro (Subway): The State Center Station, located at the Maryland State Office Complex on Preston Street, is located two blocks from the hospital.
Light Rail: The hospital is conveniently located within walking distance of the Cultural Center stop (at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall) and the Centre Street stop (at the Maryland Historical Society).
Bus: The hospital is served by several bus lines: 11, 19, 27, 91. Visit mta.maryland.gov to plan your trip.
