Bedside Delivery | Pharmacy
When being discharged from the hospital the last thing you or your caregiver wants to do is make a trip to the pharmacy. That's why at UMMC’s Downtown and Midtown campuses our pharmacy team comes to you.
Our bedside delivery is a convenient, free service that brings the medications you'll need at home directly to your hospital room. You won't be charged additional fees, just your normal co-payments.
If you would like bedside delivery, a member of your care team will arrange it for you. We work directly with the medical staff to make sure you get all medications approved by your insurance. We also work with the team to ensure you can afford the needed medications.
A pharmacist is available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer any other questions. Questions or concerns about your medication can be discussed before leaving the hospital. Call 410-328-5233.
Arranging Bedside Delivery
UMMC Downtown Bedside Delivery Hours: 9 am - 6 pm, Monday through Friday
To set up delivery, talk to your nurse or call 8-5233 on your hospital room phone (or 410-328-5233 from an outside line) during the program's regular hours.
UMMC Midtown Bedside Delivery Hours: 8:30 am- 6 pm, Monday – Friday
To set up delivery, talk to your nurse or call 410-856-3854 during the program’s regular hours.
UMMC Capital Region Bedside Delivery Hours: 9 am-5pm, Monday through Friday

Receiving Your Medications
Once the medication is ready, a pharmacy technician will deliver your medications to your room before you are discharged. If your discharge is not during Bedside Delivery hours:
- At UMMC Downtown, medications will be available for pick-up at the Weinberg Pharmacy on the Main Floor, which is open 24 hours a day.
- At UM BWMC, UM Capital Region and UM Midtown, we will make every effort to deliver your medications during our regular hours, but if that isn't possible we will send the prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.
