Inpatient Palliative Care at UM Shore Regional Health

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s Palliative Care program is offered by a team of experts – physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and chaplains. The team works with each patient and his or her family to optimize health and comfort by:

  • assisting in the patient’s treatment and illness management preferences,

  • providing the needed education to manage symptoms, and

  • planning for any care needs outside of the hospital.

Inpatient palliative care is offered at:

UM Shore Medical Centers (SMC) at Chestertown, Dorchester and Easton, and The Requard Rehabilitation Center for Acute Rehabilitation  in UM SMC at Easton- Patients may request or be recommended for an assessment for a Palliative Care consult through their attending physician or nurse practitioner.
