University of Maryland Infectious Diseases fellows in the research lab

Applications for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program will be accepted through the Electronic Residency Applicant System (ERAS).

Starting with the 2016 Match cycle, the IDSA's Board of Directors approved the adoption of an "all-in" Match policy for ID fellowships. This policy applies to all ID Fellowship positions in all ACGME-accredited Adult ID fellowship programs and all applicants for those ACGME-accredited positions. We are participating in the “all-in” Match policy which means that all fellowship positions will be offered only within the Match.

If selected for an interview, you will receive an email invitation with available interview dates and a career interest form. Please complete the interest form and return it back to the fellowship coordinator in a timely manner so that we can coordinate interviews with faculty specializing in your area(s) of interest, as available.

Please let us know if you have time constraints for your interview or are not able to interview with us on one of the listed interview dates; we will do our best to accommodate you. If you have a strong interest in meeting with a particular faculty member who is not available on the day of your interview, we will attempt to set up a later interview at a time that is mutually convenient.

Please note that UMMC does not sponsor H-1B visas.

For those who would like to acquaint yourselves with our program prior to applying, we encourage you to consider a visiting rotation at the University of Maryland. Please be aware that participating in a rotation here does not guarantee an invitation to interview or acceptance into the fellowship. If you would like to set up a visiting rotation please email Terry Jones.
