Morgan Blue Promoted to Director of Operations for UM Shore Medical Group

Morgan Blue recently was named Director of Operations for University of Maryland Shore Medical Group (UM SMG), which includes more than 150 physician and advanced practice providers in more than 21 primary care and specialty practices throughout Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties. UM SMG is affiliated with UM Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), a member hospital of the University of Maryland Medical System.

Del Puppo Joins UM Shore Medical Group – Primary Care at Centreville

University of Maryland Shore Medical Group (UM SMG) – Primary Care at Centreville recently welcomed Jamie Del Puppo, MSN, RN, CRNP, as a nurse practitioner. Most recently, Del Puppo served as a nurse clinician in the medical-surgical oncology inpatient unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. 

Kent County African American Health Committee Expands Mission, Seeks New Members

The African American Women's Health Advisory Committee (AAWHAC) has changed its name to the African American Health Advisory Committee (AAHAC). This group was formed in September 2022 as a collaborative effort between University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown's Shore Community Outreach Team (SCOT), the hospital's health educator, and women from the local African American community. Its purpose was to address healthcare inequalities faced by women in Kent County's African American community.

Stephanie Saffran, BSN, RN, Honored as 2024 UM Shore Regional Health Nurse of the Year

Stephanie Saffran, BSN, RN, clinical nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), has been named SRH’s Nurse of the Year. Saffran was chosen by an independent panel of judges from over 70 nominations made by team members. The annual award recognizes nursing excellence achieved through leadership, professionalism, commitment to others and commitment to patient experience.

As part of a spring campaign celebrating National Doctors’ Day, Nurses Week and Hospital Week, local community members and patients are honoring team members members at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown as Everyday Heroes. The hospital is part of University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, which is a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System.

UM SRH Heart and Vascular Team Celebrates Anniversary of Cardiac Intervention Center Reaccreditation

UM Shore Regional Health's (UM SRH) Heart and Vascular Center team recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the reaccreditation of the Cardiac Intervention Center (CIC) at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton. The gathering acknowledged the team and celebrated their hard work in securing the first re-accreditation of the Center. UM SRH is a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System.

UM Shore Regional Health Receives 4th Magnet® Designation

UM Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, has earned re-designation as a Magnet® organization from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program® distinguishes health care organizations that meet rigorous standards for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice. The coveted recognition is the highest national honor for professional nursing practice and requires re-designation every four years.

Roger D. Brown Education Center Dedicated at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown

The University of Maryland Chester River Health Foundation (UM CRHF) recently hosted a dedication of the Roger D. Brown Education Center in the Aging & Wellness Center at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown. The event was attended by approximately 60 of Brown’s friends, family members and community members. UM CRHF supports the advancement of patient care programs at the Chestertown hospital, which is part of University Maryland Shore Regional Health and the University of Maryland Medical System.
