University of Maryland Shore Regional Health offers a comprehensive, cutting-edge suite of imaging services to residents of the Eastern Shore. Our commitment is to provide you with convenient and efficient diagnostic tools to help you and your physician manage your healthcare needs.

Imaging Technology

Bone Density (DEXA) Scan

Bone density (DEXA) scans use X-ray technology to assess bone strength by scanning the spine, forearm and both hips. These scans helps diagnose conditions like osteoporosis, ensuring early intervention for better health outcomes.

Breast Imaging and Intervention

We offer a broad scope of services for diagnosing, staging and treating breast disease in partnership with the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center and the Cancer Center at UM Shore Regional Health. Our comprehensive breast imaging services include digital mammography, ultrasound and MRI to detect breast cancer early.

Cardiac Imaging

Cardiac imaging techniques evaluate heart health and detect conditions like coronary artery disease, heart valve problems and heart muscle disorders. Our diagnostic exams include calcium scoring, heart stress/rest testing, cardiac and vascular ultrasound, cardiac echo and a pacemaker/defibrillator clinic.

Computerized Tomography (CT)

CT scans use non-invasive technology to provide detailed internal images of the body, aiding in the diagnosis of injuries, fractures, infections, tumors, blockages and other conditions. Our quick and efficient CT services deliver prompt results for timely medical interventions.

Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiology offers minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat diseases. These procedures use CT, ultrasound or MRI technologies to guide your physician through treatment. These techniques often minimize risk to patients and improve health outcomes.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

MRI produces detailed images of soft tissues and organs without radiation exposure, making it ideal for diagnosing conditions like brain and spinal cord injuries, joint problems and tumors.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine utilizes small amounts of radioactive materials to diagnose and treat various diseases using a gamma camera. We offer several nuclear medicine procedures, including bone scans, biliary scans or HIDA scans and thyroid scans.

Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET-CT)

PET-CT combines two types of imaging to scan at the cellular level, aiding in the diagnosis and staging of cancer, neurological disorders and cardiovascular diseases.

Ultrasound

Ultrasonic imaging uses high-frequency sound waves to show the small, internal details of organs and soft tissues in real-time. Ultrasounds are often used to examine a pregnant woman's fetus, as well as to diagnose conditions such as gallstones, kidney stones and tumors.

X-Ray and Fluoroscopy

X-Rays use radiography to capture images of the soft tissue and bone in the body. This common technique can be used to to identify many types of medical conditions.

Fluoroscopy uses real-time X-Ray imaging to visualize movement within the body, such as swallowing or the pumping of your heart.

Locations

Our imaging services are located in Cambridge, Chestertown, Denton, Easton and Queenstown, providing convenient access to patients within our five-county region of the Eastern Shore.
