The Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine welcomes applications to our Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Programs. Applicants to the one-year clinical fellowship must be Board-eligible or Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine prior to starting our fellowship.

We consider applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of gender, racial or ethnic background, religious affiliation or marital status.

The program currently offers up to five positions per year.

How to Apply

We use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) which is sponsored by the Association of American Colleges.

Applications are accepted through ERAS beginning July 1 of the year to which the applicant is applying (12 months prior to anticipated start of fellowship training). All positions are offered through the National Residency Matching Program.

To submit applications through ERAS, applicants must contact the ERAS Fellowship Documents Office and request an electronic token, which is then used to access the ERAS application site.

We require the following materials to be submitted through ERAS:

  • ERAS Common Application, including e-mail address
  • Photograph
  • Curriculum Vitae (ERAS format is acceptable)
  • Personal Statement
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • USMLE Transcript and Results
  • If applicable, a copy of your ECFMG certificate and visa

In order to receive full consideration from our program, applicants should submit the above materials to ERAS in a timely manner.

You must also be eligible for completion, or have already completed a three-year residency in either Internal or Family Medicine in the United States.

Interview

Upon review of ERAS materials, applicants will receive e-mails confirming completion of their application and advising whether they have been invited to come for an interview.

Applicants are advised to check their e-mails for correspondence regarding the status of their applications.
