UMMC's Pediatric ER (right) is adjacent to the adult ER, but it is solely dedicated to serving infants, children and teenagers. It includes a separate triage area, playroom and waiting area.

There are 16 pediatric treatment areas, many of which are glass enclosed, providing a quiet and safe environment. These rooms are spacious in order to improve patient and family comfort for evaluation and management of simple problems to more complex issues that require admission.
