Neurosurgery

The University of Maryland Medical Center's Department of Neurosurgery uses the latest surgical techniques in treating neurological disorders and diseases.

Our highly trained surgeons are leaders in treating Parkinson's disease and other tremor-related disorders.

Patients receive noninvasive and minimally invasive treatment to reduce the side-effects of neurological conditions.

These techniques include non-invasive brain surgery with the Gamma Knife and MRI-guided focused ultrasounds (FUS).

The department also specializes in advanced treatment of spine and spinal cord injuries, brain tumors and various types of traumatic neurological damage. Our goal is to bring patients to their best level of recovery through advanced approaches.

We have a close working relationship with UMMC neurologists, ensuring our patients receive the full spectrum of care.
