DAISY Award
About the Award
The DAISY Award is presented quarterly to a nurse nominated by a patient, family member, co-worker, manager, physician or anyone else who wishes to recognize a nurse that has had a special impact on their life. DAISY nurses are recognized for their extraordinary acts of compassion and clinical excellence they demonstrate every day in their work with our patients.
A DAISY Nurse:
- Goes above and beyond
- Demonstrates compassion and caring
- Demonstrates evidence-based practice
- Has excellent clinical skills
- Is calm, focused and communicative
- Is a great role model for other nurses
- Is a helpful co-worker
- Takes initiative
- Is an involved member of their unit and the hospital
