What to Expect at the ER: Our priority is to treat each person in our emergency rooms as fully, safely and quickly as possible. We see patients based on how serious their conditions are. Patients are not seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more about what to expect at the ER.

The emergency department is open 24 hours a day.

The entrance is on the south side of the hospital past the Freeman Outpatient Center entrance, accessible from either Washington Street or West Earle Avenue.

Emergency services include treatment for:

  • Abuse
  • Drug overdose
  • Heart or arm pain
  • Loss of consciousness or seizure
  • Poisoning
  • Rape or assault
  • Trouble breathing
  • Other severe conditions
