We know that your child's heart surgery can be a stressful experience. We want to alleviate that stress by answering some of the questions we hear frequently from families who come under our care. If you don't see your questions answered here, please make sure to ask your surgical team. We want you to feel at ease when the day of surgery arrives.

How soon can I see my child after surgery?

After your child’s surgery, they will be brought to the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) on the “D” Wing of the 5th Floor of the Children’s Hospital. You will be able to visit with your child usually within an hour of the child’s arrival on the unit.
