Joint Replacement Class
Please note: The Joint Replacement Class will not be held on Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
To guide and assist you through your surgical experience, the orthopaedic team at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center provides a total joint replacement class. The purpose of the program is to present to you and your family an in-depth explanation of all aspects of your surgery, hospital stay, and recuperation period.
Topics covered in this program include, but are not limited to:
- admissions process
- surgical procedures
- hospital routine
- pain management
- physical therapy
- occupational therapy
- rehabilitation services
- length of hospital stay
- discharge planning
- spiritual care
We encourage you and your family members to attend one of these classes to prepare you for your upcoming joint replacement surgery.
The class is offered at UM St. Joseph Medical Center on the following days:
- First and third Wednesday from 1–3 p.m. in the Noppenberger Auditorium, 1st Floor of the Main Hospital
- Every fourth Wednesday from 6–8 p.m. in the Canticle Room, 1st Floor of the Main Hospital
*No class on holidays or the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
