Melissa McDiarmid, M.D. is Professor of Medicine and Director of the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, trained in internal medicine, occupational medicine and toxicology. Her clinical practice involves the assessment and management of patients who are occupationally or environmentally exposed to toxic substances including heavy metals and occupational carcinogens. She also provides OSHA-mandated surveillance programs for high-risk workers. Dr. McDiarmid has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters on occupational and environmental medicine topics related to: heavy mental exposures, healthcare workers, medical surveillance and management, reproductive hazards and occupational cancers.
Dr. McDiarmid was named a "Top Doctor" in the specialty of Environmental/Occupational Health by Baltimore magazine in 2016.
