Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a doctor. And because I have always loved to fix things with my hands, I focused specifically on surgery. In college, I developed a love for neuroscience.
When you bring all those passions together, neurosurgery was the most natural career path for me.
Today, I specialize in treating benign and cancerous tumors of the vertebrae and spinal cord. As a fellowship-trained surgeon, I can treat all aspects of spine disease, including degenerative, deformity, trauma, tumors and infections.
Another specialty of mine is complex revision surgery for patients who have had spinal operations but continue to experience pain or discomfort. I also care for some patients with brain tumors, hydrocephalus and brain trauma.
Our team has excellent experience treating the most complex spinal disorders, and as an academic medical center, we have the most advanced technology and resources.
We work with you to find the right option for you, always attempting to maximize management of the condition before considering surgery.
Procedures I specialize in are:
- Minimally invasive spine surgery
- Robotic spine surgery using the Mazor robot
- Revision surgery
I am a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the Joint Spine Section. I serve on several committees at the local and national level. I am also on the board of directors of the Maryland Neurosurgical Society.
