About Me
Hilary B. Whitlatch, MD, received an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and a Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown.
Dr. Whitlatch is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition. She is an experienced clinician and treats a wide variety of endocrinologic conditions, including diabetes, pituitary, metabolic bone and thyroid disorders. She heads the Metabolic Bone Disease Clinic at UMMC Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology. She recently established a Transplant Endocrinology Clinic with the goal of improving patient access to endocrinologic care following kidney transplant.
Dr. Whitlatch’s clinical research interests include management of metabolic bone disease and treatment of severe insulin resistance. She has also investigated the use of various biomarkers in diabetes-related microvascular and macrovascular complication risk assessment.
