About Me
Dr. Harrison is a neurologist. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory and autoimmune conditions of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.
Dr. Harrison strongly believes in shared decision-making in patient care. Rather than dictating to patients what they must do, he counsels them on the best available data to guide their decisions, walking them through the pros and cons of the available options.
"I prefer patients to make a treatment decision that they are comfortable with, but one that is informed by the best scientific evidence available," he says.
Dr. Harrison is director of the University of Maryland Center for Multiple Sclerosis Treatment and Research. He is also an associate professor of Neurology at University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Harrison has previously been recognized by Baltimore magazine as a "Top Doctor" honoree in the Neurology-Multiple Sclerosis specialty.
