Deanna Tran, PharmD, BCACP, FAPhA

In her role as a clinical pharmacist, Deanna Tran helps patients better understand their medications, specifically how to take them and how to remember to take them. She helps patients with chronic (long-lasting) conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Her specialties include medication management and immunizations.

Tran is passionate about community pharmacy, pharmacy advocacy and mentorship of student pharmacists. She is active in a number of professional pharmacy organizations, including the American Pharmacists Association, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and Maryland Pharmacists Association. Previously, she was a clinical programs consultant for the Landover, Maryland, division of Giant Pharmacy, serving more than 150 pharmacies in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia. She assisted in the development and implementation of Giant Pharmacy’s patient care services, including medication therapy management, travel health clinics and outreach programs such as chronic disease management classes.

Some of Tran's past accolades include recognition as a Baltimore Business Journal "40 Under 40" award honoree for her for immunization delivery, education and advocacy efforts.
