In early December 2021, UMMS was one of hundreds of organizations that lost access to its timekeeping system during the worldwide Kronos outage. Despite not having access to Kronos for nearly six weeks, UMMS committed to paying all team members on time, using high estimates from their six previous pay periods.

We honored this pledge throughout the outage, knowing that when it was resolved, we would need to reconcile both overpayments and underpayments to team members. Learn more about what happened.

Since this situation was resolved, some team members have left the organization. Those former team members who were underpaid have received the compensation due to them. If you received a communication directing you to this Repayment Portal, it is because you were overpaid and need to repay that amount to UMMS. Please see the repayment options below.

How to Make a Payment

Please note: When making a payment using any of the methods below, you'll need your Unique ID – your former UMMS employee ID — that is listed on the letter you received from Human Resources.

  • Make a payment online using our secure form below. You may pay the full amount or set up a payment plan that will automatically charge your credit card or bank account over 2, 4 or 6 months.

  • Call 855-486-6747 and press 8 to reach a representative, Monday – Friday, from 7:30 am to 5 pm.
  • Mail a check made payable to "University of Maryland Medical System," write the Unique ID in the Memo field and return it in the return address envelope provided.
