Sumit Bassi, MD has been named the new Medical Director for Sports Medicine at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, The John Carroll School and Harford County Public Schools.
Dr. Bassi is a family medicine physician trained in sports medicine. He received his medical education at Medical University Plevin in Bulgaria. He served his family medicine residency at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine and completed a sports medicine fellowship at Summa Health Sports Medicine in Akron, Ohio. In addition to his role as Medical Director, Dr. Bassi is joining the Upper Chesapeake Orthopaedic Specialty Group, seeing patients in both the Bel Air and Havre de Grace offices.
Dr. Bassi is a sports enthusiast, who looks forward to working with athletes of all ages and skill levels.
