About Me

Dr. Kotwal is a pediatric pulmonologist at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include management of lung diseases including: sickle cell disease, severe asthma, lung disease of prematurity and childhood interstitial lung diseases. Her research interests focus on bronchiolitis, neuromuscular diseases and sickle cell disease.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society.

  • Dr. Kotwal acknowledges our concerns, assures us of his progress and includes us in treatment plans. She includes my son (the patient) in the visit and discussion to the degree that is age appropriate. He feels comfortable in her care. We are so grateful to have her as part of his care team.
