Jared Muhati, CRNP

A family nurse practitioner, Jared P. Muhati is deeply committed to providing primary healthcare services to patients of all ages and helping them meet their short- and long-term health goals. He has more than 22 years of experience in health care, over 13 as a family nurse practitioner.

Muhati is an assistant professor for nurse practitioner students at University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSON). He has served as a clinical mentor/preceptor for nursing students at various universities, including University of Maryland School of Nursing. He joined University of Maryland Medical System from Total Healthcare Inc., where he worked for more than eight years as a primary care provider.

Muhati earned a Master of Science degree from UMSON and a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Woman's University (Denton, Texas). He earned a PhD in nursing from Wilkes University (Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania).

Muhati takes a holistic approach to care, treating the whole patient and not just the disease. He believes in educating patients and families on their health and helping them actively participate as partners in their care.

Muhati's clinical research interests include health promotion, health disparities and patient education.
