About Me
Dr. DiPietro sees patients aged 18 and older for primary care services including diagnosis and treatment of acute conditions, well adult preventive exams, management of complicated chronic medical conditions and minor office surgical procedures.
He practices evidence-based medicine and utilizes accepted clinical guidelines but tailors this approach to the individual needs of his patients. As a member of the American College of Physicians, he supports the "Choosing Wisely" program in advising his patients about the overuse of tests or treatments that may not be beneficial or may cause harm.
His interests include educating his patients on adopting healthy lifestyles including diet and exercise and preventive medicine with an emphasis on hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and appropriate cancer screenings.
Dr. DiPietro is a Baltimore native and attended high school locally at Mount. St. Joseph. He graduated from Loyola College with a BS in biology and from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Union Memorial Hospital. After residency, he served with US Public Health Service for 3 years in Alabama in a medically underserved region.
Returning to Baltimore in 1987, he joined Towson Medical Associates and has been practicing adult primary care internal medicine at the same office site ever since. He resides in Harford County with his wife and enjoys biking and skiing.
