Thelma B. Wright, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She also serves as the program director of Pain Medicine Fellowship program. She is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. She has a special interest in diabetic neuropathy and spinal cord stimulation. Dr. Wright was named a Rising Star in the Super Doctors edition of the Baltimore magazine. She was also named U.S. News & World Report Top Doctor in 2011 and 2012.
Dr. Wright received her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, D.C. and completed her residency in anesthesiology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Her fellowship in pain medicine was also completed at the University of Virginia. Dr. Wright is currently a member of the advisory board of the recently-launched Maryland Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.
