About Me
Dr. Kottilil’s special interests include pathogenesis of chronic viral infections and translational research related to eradicating chronic, persistent viral infections by targeting the virus and the host. He has conducted several pivotal investigator-initiated studies on hepatitis C and has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Kottilil was one of the founding members of the U.S. National Hepatitis C Treatment Guidance Panel. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the recipient of the 2019 Hinda and Richard Rosenthal Award from the American College of Physicians. Dr. Kottilil is an elected fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American Society of the Liver Diseases, the Royal College of Physicians (in London, England) and the Mastership of the American College of Physicians.
