About Me
Dr. Williams' expertise is in pulmonary and critical care medicine, with a clinical focus on advanced lung diseases such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and sarcoidosis. She became interested in ILD because it so greatly affects how patients feel and live. She believes there is still much left to discover about treating advanced lung disease.
"This work combines my love of helping patients and my interest in exploring the forefront of science," she says.
Dr. Williams is the associate site director of University of Maryland Medical Center's (UMMC) ILD program, which is a designated member of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Care Center Network and is committed to top-quality patient care and research. She is also assistant program director of UMMC's Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program, a role in which she helps guide new doctors in training, mentoring them in their research endeavors and teaching them both in the classroom and at the bedside.
As part of a holistic approach to treatment, Dr. Williams also participates in a support group for patients and families living with advanced lung disease.
