Dr. Paula Newton is the division chief of pediatric endocrinology and the chair of the Pediatric Diversity Council.
Her clinical focus is in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, thyroid disorders and early and late puberty. Dr. Newton's other interests include identifying health care disparities, increasing diversity in medicine and medical education, and addressing social determinants of health and the impact on patient care.
She graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis. She finished her pediatrics residency at Inova Children's Hospital and fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Washington University. She completed her MBA at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
Dr. Newton was named on Baltimore magazine's "Top Doctors" list from 2018-2021.
