About Me

Gerard Slobogean, MD, MPH, FRCSC is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in complex fracture care and upper extremity reconstruction. He has extensive experience in revision surgery for fractures that have not healed (non-union), healed incorrectly (mal-union), or require shoulder or elbow joint replacement to regain function. Dr. Slobogean also cares for complex upper extremity injuries, pelvis and acetabular fractures and traumatic lower limb injuries.

After graduating with his medical degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Dr. Slobogean stayed to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery. His training continued with two fellowships: one in orthopaedic trauma at the world-renowned R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, and one in shoulder and elbow reconstruction at the University of Toronto. Dr. Slobogean also earned a master of public health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.
