About Me
A neurologist, Dr. Savitt provides comprehensive care for patients dealing with chronic neurodegenerative diseases, focusing on personalized care and new therapies. He has an interest in genetic movement disorders, especially cerebellar ataxia, seeing many patients with this rare condition.
A large part of Dr. Savitt's practice involves botulinum toxin injection, focused ultrasound and deep brain stimulation therapies. While attending University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), he researched the visual system. In 2016, after a stint at a specialty movement disorders practice, he joined the UMSOM faculty as a member of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center, where he provides care for various movement disorders and cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. In 2023, he became a neurodegenerative attending physician at Baltimore VA Medical Center, where he treats veterans with movement, cognitive and headache disorders.
In addition to treating them, Dr. Savitt enjoys teaching about and researching neurodegenerative diseases, which he describes as "one of the most disabling and under-researched groups of ailments facing humanity."
