Dr. Cronin is certified in neurology and vascular neurology and cares for neurology patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, with an emphasis on the care of patients with stroke.
Her research is focused mainly on stroke outcomes, emphasizing the criteria used to determine which patients to treat with thrombolytic therapy for acute stroke. She has investigated this issue using local retrospective data and statewide prospective data and has collaborated with the American Heart Association to use data from the national Get With The Guidelines database. She is also the local primary investigator for multicenter international studies in stroke, and she mentors trainees in quality improvement projects in stroke.
Dr. Cronin is highly involved in neurology education, serving as both the director of the neurology residency program and the vascular neurology fellowship program.
