April Rectanus, LCPC

April Rectanus, our clinical director, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and a Doctoral Degree in Education (with a Counseling Specialization). She has worked at the Care Clinic since 2007.

She previously worked at St. Vincent's Center with severely emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children and their families. Her work there consisted of providing individual, group, and family therapy as well as case management services, crisis intervention, and some direct care experience.

Ms. Rectanus has several years of experience working with maltreated children and their families and has obtained extensive training on trauma and related topics. Ms. Rectanus incorporates play therapy and cognitive-behavioral approaches in her work. Also she has provided training and supervision to other clinicians.
