Amy Holstege is an acute care nurse practitioner. She works primarily in inpatient endocrinology and limited outpatient appointments for recently hospitalized patients at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) Transitional Care Center. She believes health care should be interactive, with clinicians and patients working together to optimize health outcomes.
Holstege joined the hospitalist service at UM BWMC in 2008 and the University of Maryland Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology in 2021. She earned her Master of Science degree in the acute care nurse practitioner specialty from University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Nursing in 2007. She started out as a nurse in the cardiac telemetry unit at North Arundel Hospital (now UM BWMC) in 2003.
When she is not helping patients, Holstege enjoys traveling with her family and finding new healthy recipes.
