For Immediate Release: April 27, 2017

On April 25, 2017, Orioles first basemen Chris Davis and wife Jill visited University of Maryland Children’s Hospital to say hello and lift the spirits of young patients battling cancer and other illnesses. The couple posed for pictures with the children and staff, and gave patients autographed memorabilia including Orioles T-shirts, caps and socks.

The visit is the first of several planned visits during the 2017 Orioles baseball season.

Last December, the Davis family announced a partnership with University of Maryland Children’s Hospital, where they serve as ambassadors helping to raise awareness for childhood illnesses and University of Maryland Children’s Hospital’s role as a leader in patient care, pediatric disease research, and teaching future generations of health care providers. During visits last December, the Davises dropped off toys and other presents, as well as donated nearly two dozen MamaRoo infant seats to the Drs. Rouben and Violet JiJi Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at University of Maryland Children’s Hospital.

Watch the Orioles slugger talk about the importance of this partnership to him, his wife and to our young patients:
