Celebrating Black History Month is an important way to express our collective gratitude for members of the African American community whose achievements largely went unrecognized for far too long.
It is also an opportunity to learn more about the influences that women and men of color have had on shaping our country and on the individuals who lead us.
At the same time as we look back, our leaders are also looking forward as we embrace diversity as one of UMMS core values.
