Cancer Patient Navigator Program
The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) has partnered with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to provide a helpful resource for cancer patients.
UMGCCC's ACS Patient Navigator, Kevin LaMartina is available to help patients and their families find the various resources, services, information and support they need to receive the best cancer treatment. He has worked for the American Cancer Society for over 20 Years and is a cancer survivor himself.
The Patient Navigator helps remove barriers to care, so that patients are able to keep their appointments, follow their treatment regimen, and receive the support services they need. The goal of the Patient Navigator program is to make sure that the comprehensive and varied cancer care services offered through UMGCCC, the American Cancer Society, the community and national resources are accessible to all patients.
Our Patient Navigator helps patients connect with support services such as transportation assistance, lodging during treatment, finding financial assistance resources, diagnosis and treatment information, emotional support and locating other available services that may help patients and families deal a cancer diagnosis. The Patient Navigator is available to work with patients and their families throughout their treatment process into cancer survivorship.
