Support Groups

Support groups meet throughout the year and can greatly add to a patient's and family's recovery process.  

*Please Note: Patient/Family Education classes are available only to The University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute patients and their families.

Every Wednesday evening

Spinal Cord Injury Patient Education:

Classes are offered every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday

Movin' Ahead Support Group

1st Monday of each month, 6:30–8:30 p.m.
This peer-counseling group holds monthly sessions for survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and their families and friends


4th Tuesday of each month, 6–7 p.m.
Open group for all caregivers and does not focus on a specific disability, disease or condition

Offering a variety of educational speakers relevant to amputees and their family members.

Trauma Survivors' Support Group

This group offers trauma survivors the chance to gain the experience, confidence and support necessary to move forward in the recovery process.
2nd Wednesday of each month, 6:30–8 p.m.
