About Me
As an osteopathic physician and former Division I collegiate rower, Dr. Sheila E. Taylor has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sports medicine. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of general musculoskeletal conditions that affect the bones, joints, tendons and ligaments of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, core, hip, knee, ankle and foot. These conditions include:
- Cartilage injuries
- Fractures
- Labral tears
- Nerve entrapment
- Osteoarthritis
- Sprains
- Strains
- Tendon issues (tendinitis/tendinopathy)
Dr. Taylor enjoys providing care for patients of all ages and all levels of activity. She focuses on helping patients improve their health in preparation for surgery and assists non-operative patients with alternative treatments.
"My goal is to get people back to what they love to do," she says. "I enjoy learning about each of my patients, meeting them where they are and figuring out how I can help them, whether through patient education, medication, exercise, surgery or other treatments."
Dr. Taylor specializes in diagnostic and procedural musculoskeletal ultrasound, joint injections, tendon sheath injections, nerve hydro-dissections, trigger point injections, ultrasound-guided tenotomy, shockwave therapy and platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections. She also offers lifestyle medicine consultations for obesity management and weight loss and prescription exercise programs for those seeking to become more active and management of sports-related concussions.
Having worked with USA Weightlifting, International Weightlifting Federation masters, York Revolution baseball, the Marine Corps Marathon, Special Olympics, and Division I collegiate teams in all sports and multiple high school sports teams, Dr. Taylor has diverse sports coverage experience.
