About Me
Dr. Galvagno is an anesthesiologist and a critical care medicine physician. In addition to anesthesiology and critical care, he specializes in neurocritical care. He is skilled in critical care ultrasonography, including basic transesophageal echocardiography.
Dr. Galvagno works in operating rooms and ICUs. Whether providing anesthesia or critical care, he takes a patient-centered, evidence-based, cost-effective approach to care. "I chose to pursue a career in my medical specialties so I could take care of the sickest of the sick," he says.
Dr. Galvagno is an experienced physician-leader with a demonstrated history of working in the research industry. He has authored over 185 peer-reviewed papers and numerous book chapters and abstracts. He has also lectured nationally and internationally.
Dr. Galvagno is a past recipient of the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) Attending Physician of the Year award.
