About Me
Dr. Melnyk is a hematology-oncology physician at the Kaufman Cancer Center at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health. She has particular interest in the areas of:
- Internal medicine (diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in adult patients),
- Medical oncology (diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer)
- Hematology (prevention of diseases related to blood)
She has extensive experience in the treatment of blood disorders.
Prior to joining the Kaufman Cancer Center, Dr. Melnyk was a hematologist-oncologist at the Tunnell Cancer Center in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Melnyk completed her internal medicine residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, New Jersey, followed by a hematology-oncology fellowship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Dr. Melnyk is an associate member of the American College of Physicians and an active member of both the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
